Manual Installation Guide


STEP 1:

* Open gta3.img ('models' dir) with your favourite IMG editor and add files from 'to_imgs'
directory (overwriting escape.dff/.txd and chopper.dff/.txd).
* Rebuild the archive.

STEP 2:
NOTE: If you don't own a Steam version (txd.img has uncompressed textures in it), you can skip
this step and DELETE txd.dir and txd.img instead - they'll be rebuilt on game launch.

* Open txd.img ('models' dir) with your favourite IMG editor and add ONLY TXD files from
'to_imgs' directory (overwriting escape.txd and chopper.txd).
* Rebuild the archive.

STEP 3:

* Open vehicles.col (models\coll) with your favourite COL editor and add all COL files from
'to_col' directory.
* Save.

STEP 3:

* Open default.ide with your favourite text editor and find 'cars' section.
* Scroll down until you see the end of this section (marked with 'end' line, next line is probably
opening 'peds' section). Add these lines ABOVE the end of this section:

151, maverick, maverick, car, MAVERICK, MAVERIC, ignore, 1, 7, 0, 166, 0.7

STEP 4:

* Open default.ide with your favourite text editor and find 'car' section.
* Add these lines anywhere in this sections (preferably at the end of it):

* Save.

STEP 5:

* Open default.ide with your favourite text editor and scroll down to the very end of this file.
* Add these lines ABOVE ';the end' line (you can skip the comments if you wish to)

* Save.

STEP 6:

* Open 'american.gxt' with your favourite GXT editor and add these entries:

MAVERIC Maverick
POLMAV Police Maverick
LCNMAV LC News Maverick
HUNTER Hunter
HUEY Armadillo
SKIMMER Skimmer
BIPLANE Biplane

* Save.

STEP 7:

* Paste 'IIIAircraft.asi' file to your game directory or 'mss' folder.
* Paste 'aircraft.cs' file to your 'CLEO' directory (provided you have III CLEO installed).

STEP 8:

That's it, you can play the game and enjoy helicopters and planes in your GTA III! :)

PS:

Если в кратце, то мод работает только с оригинальным EXE 1.0. С 1.1, некоторыми пиратскими EXE 1.0 (там где размер экзэшника отличается от того, под который написан ASI-плагин) и любыми модифицированными EXE от GTA3 мод III Aircraft не совместим. Например мне никакими методами не удалось заставить работать III Aircraft вместе с GTA3 Ultra: спавн летательных средств через каргенератор не работал вообще (так же как он не работал в авторском клео-скрипте), при принудительной загрузки летательных средств в память игра так же отказывалась их понимать и вылетала.

Вообще, наверное больше людей, у кого этот мод не работает, чем тех, у кого он работает.
